Date TBD: VDOT (understanding and using it) Developed over several years by world renowned exercise physiologist and running coach Jack Daniels and one of his runners Jimmy Gilbert, VDOT scales allow runners to assess their current fitness levels based on recent race performances. Athletes of all experience levels around the world use Daniels’ VDOT scales to determine how fast to perform what types of training in their quest for better performance. This webinar will explain VDOT, the rationale behind it, how it provides specific training paces/intensities for different types of workouts and how to use the scales yourself.
Date TBD: Doing more with Less ... the secret to endurance running success! - Ever wonder how elite marathoners can keep those seemingly superhuman paces for over 26 miles or 42Ks. Of course the answer isn’t as simple as “oh ... they just do this”. Many things contribute to their running success but one of the most important contributing factors is that they do more with less and this is something we can all learn from to make a significant difference in our performance and racing results.
Date TBD: Testosterone and the male endurance athlete - When most people hear the word testosterone they think of it as a sex hormone and of course they’re right but what most people don’t realize is that that’s just the tip of the iceberg. For those who think of testosterone supplementation or optimization as it pertains to athletics the image of the giant body builder usually comes to mind and that’s right too but many people don’t realize the amazing benefits optimizing your testosterone levels offers endurance athletes, especially those over 35. Watch this webinar presentation and find out just how significant this can be for you as an endurance athlete and find out how to safely get the most out of this amazing and misunderstood hormone to push you towards benefits in your training, running performance and everyday life.
Date TBD: Base Building - By far the most important phase in a Half or Full Marathoner’s training. It is very important that runners realize that if you mess up the base training the rest doesn’t matter. It’s kind of like building a house on a weak foundation or no foundation at all, when the going gets rough (like at mile 20 or KM 30) the house will fall down. This webinar will drive home the importance of this phase as we look at optimizing our aerobic energy system, raising the lactate threshold, building endurance and improving running economy.
